内容記述 | Now that 10 years have passed since the Gorkha Earthquake in Nepal, the author examines, from the viewpoint of adult education, how schools (which the community supports and operates) moved toward rebuilding after the earthquake, have been involved in reconstruction in local communities, and contribute to the outlook for subsequent development in post-disaster societies. Additionally, this study explores how the modern school system was established in Nepal and confirms the social role of community schools in present-day basic education. Moreover, the author reviews records of interviews with women and children from a survey the author conducted after the Gorkha Earthquake in affected areas and discusses the role of schools as bases for interaction among members of local communities as well as in the process of reconstruction. | |||||
